New Village Sign for Cliffsend
The new sign was unveiled on Saturday 26th May 2012 at 2pm by the Worshipful Mayor of Ramsgate Cllr David Green accompanied by the Mayoress Cllr Elizabeth Green.
The Cliffsend Parish Council had worked for four years on the new double-sided village sign for Cliffsend as the original sign that was on Hugin Green appeared to have been lost or stolen.
To get the right details and appropriate design for the new village sign, the Council researched the history of the area to see what would be appropriate to be included on it; you can see above the designs that were chosen to be included in the finished result.
The sign is made by hand, of cast polyurethane, by the Company ‘Signs of the Times’ of Tebworth, Bedfordshire.
The sign is unique in its design as it has a 3d effect and will be a lasting legacy to the residents of the village of Cliffsend.
